Ai Weiwei visits Berlin
Since Ai Weiwei got his passport returned last July, he is not wasting any time to catch up on the numerous invitations he has received. Tomorrow September 2nd, he will make his first speech since his detention in 2011. He is invited to the International Literature Festival Berlin which includes a panel discussion with fellow Chinese dissident and poet Liao Yiwu. The discussion will be moderated by a German journalist and writer Wolfgang Herles. The two creatives and political activists are expected to talk about contemporary art, literature, and their relationship with Chinese authorities.
He is also expected to take up a guest professorship at Berlins’ University of the Arts. Both lives currently in Berlin, the art influenced capital of Germany. Soon he will travel to London for his large exhibition there.
