UN flags of ART
Chinese Artist Liu Bolin has last week completed a commissioned piece for the United Nations Global Goals team, using his signature invisibility concept to paint himself into the 193 flags of every country. The work sets out to draw attention to the 17 UN global Goals – a series of ambitious targets tackling peace, poverty, inequality, injustice and climate change. The campaign is the UN’s biggest to date on September 25, 2015 all 193 world leaders will adopt the Global Goals at the UN headquarters in New York. The campaign founder is Richard Curtis.
The Non Violence sculpture by Carl Fredrik Reutersward standing outside the UN headquarters has also been painted by all the UN flags and hopefully Eight Art Gallery will be able together with the Non Violence Foundation to promote the same. We think the Non Violence gun is even more powerful statement of UN ambitions for peace around the world.
