A Moving Sculpture

Beijing artist Li Hongbo tricks the eye of the viewer with sculptures that look like marble but are made of paper. A demonstration how the bust sculpture turns to a long snake by dragging it out, has a whaa-effect for most onlookers. The sculpture comprises of more than 8000 sheets of paper and weights about 15 kg. ” I want to change the image and how people see things, so they think in another way, and more deeply”.

Along with Master’s degree in folk and experimental art from the Central Academy of fine Arts in Beijing, he has worked as a book editor, publisher and an ancient books expert, so paper is not unknown to him.

Pretty amazing!
