Christie’s Asian Sale coming up in Hong Kong
After Christie’s strong auction week in New York it is soon time for the Asian spring sale in Hong Kong. Asian 20th Century and Contemporary Art will take place on May 26th and 27th at the HK Convention center. There will be over 560 artworks valued over US $ 50 million and this season builds on a record year of sales in 2011.
Last year which saw the first time integration of Southeast Asian modern and contemporary artists into a wider pan-Asian sale, these sales will once again present collectors with an in-depth survey of the past century of artistic achievement in Asian Modern and Contemporary art through a single curated auction series offering the very best in art from China, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. It is set for new records to be reached for a few Asian artists.
