Body Painting to contemporary Photography

liu-bolin-001.jpg

Chinese artist Liu Bolin, who has spent years strategically paintng himself into locations around the world to amazing effect as these images identify. However it is unhealthy when patches of the skin on his face peel away after early experiments using highly toxic paint to camouflage himself for his art in his native Beijing.” painting my body is not the most difficult part of the process, it’s standing still for five hours at the time”.

Liu Bolin had last summer an exhibition at Fotografiska Museet in Stockholm and took the opportunity to make a photo session there. He has also been in New York and drew crowds when he blend himself inot the financial district’s landmark bronze bull and the half built Freedom Tower. I can’t wait to see these new images and hopefully be ready to show them in our gallery next year.
