Christo’s reputation as the artist that has wrapped up nature, land and buildings in his projects are again furiously working to complete drawings for the next project. The Arc de Triomphe in Paris, scheduled for the fall of 2020.
This very important gate as Christo calls the Arc de Tromphe is a project that he says he has been imaging since 1961, while living not far from the monument. He thinks the site is so powerful with an incredible light and history. The Parisian archway will be veiled with 30,000 square meters of recyclable polypropylene fabric in silvery blue and7,000 meters of red rope. The timing is planned to protect nesting falcons and Christo is covering all costs, which is estimated to be upwards USD 13 million.
