Yang Xun focuses his paintings on Chinese Gardens seen in the nighttime with spotlights giving the viewer a sharp contrast what is visible and not. It could also be a moonlight that reflects the contrast from dark to light. One could enter a space and contrast of illusion. Sometimes it feels like a stage set, like a stage of a theatre that resemblance distance. The scene is beautiful with bamboo and other plants including peony flowers caught in a time capsule.
